This error indicates that data was written to non-volatile storage (EEPROM), but did not read back correctly.
You may encounter this error when running iPXE in a virtual machine. Some virtual machines emulate the mechanisms used for non-volatile storage on a network card, but do not actually allow the data to be modified.
